Installation

You'll want to install this theme just like any other WordPress theme, either by uploading the main theme folder via FTP (unzipped) or the zipped file via the Wordpress theme upload section. Make sure you located the main theme folder from the downloaded zip file and that you are not uploading the entire zip with all the documentation, sample data, etc. Watch the


1. Uploading The Theme


a. FTP Method

  • Log into your site via FTP
  • Browse to your folder located at wp-content/themes
  • Upload the MAIN theme folder. This is the folder located inside the "upload" folder in the zip file that you downloaded.
  • Log Into Wordpress and go to Appearance → Themes
  • Find the theme and click to activate


b. WordPress Method

  • Log into your WP dashboard
  • Browse to Appearance →Themes
  • Click to "add new" and then follow the instructions on the screen
  • When it asks to select a file find the zipped theme folder located in the "upload" folder in the zip downloaded.




3. Recommended Plugins

After you have finished installing the theme you will see a yellow notice stating you should install the recommended plugins, the theme will run without them but functionality will be impaired. We suggest you activate them to receive full benefits of the theme.




4. Activate & Save Permalinks - Important!

After installing and activating the recommended plugins go to your Settings → Permalink settings and hit the save button. To prevent any 404 errors on custom post type pages.

Sample Data

This theme includes a .xml file that will allow you to import some sample data to your site. We don't provide every single page and image from our live demo because it's overbloated and would be uncessary for you to have all that, but we do include at least 1 of each main theme function to make it easier for you to see how the theme works.


  1. Unzip the purchased folder
  2. Open the SampleData folder and located the sample-data.xml file
  3. Log in to your WordPress dashboard
  4. Go to tools → import
  5. Follow the steps to upload and import the .xml file located on step 2

Theme Options

This theme makes use of the awesome "Options Framework" plugin for the theme options. This plugin must be installed and active in order for you to take advantage of the built-in options.

Adding Featured Images & Default Image Sizes

This theme makes use of the WordPress featured images function a lot so you'll need to know how to add featured images.




Image Resizing

Due to the responsive nature of this theme and our effort to keep the quality of your images high, featured images used in this theme have specific cropping sizes. All the image sizing is controlled via a function at includes/default-img-sizes.php. This means you can easily change your featured image sizes via a filter in your child theme if you want.

Images are also cropped using the aqua-resizer script which uses native WordPress functions for cropping your images. This means images are cropped "on-the-fly" so if you make changes to any default image sizing you don't have to run the regenerate thumbnails plugin.


Default Sizes (first value is width and second is height)


  • Entries: 370px by 330px
  • Posts: 590px by 9999 (wont be cropped vertically)
  • Slider: 700px by 450px (wont be cropped vertically)

Adding Slides The To Homepage

This theme comes with 2 different sliders for the homepage and they are extremely easy to setup. All you have to do is go to your theme panel and select a category for the sliders

Post Formats

This theme comes with support for several built-in WordPress post formats. They are super easy to use and if you've used WordPress before then you most likely already know how to use them!

Gallery Post Format Note

The Gallery post format doesn't really do anything special when selected...so how do you add your gallery? Easy, use the default WordPress gallery creator and insert it at the top of the post (like the demo) or anywhere you want it to show! This theme has a custom function that changes the default styling of the WP gallery shortcode so it has fancybox and looks much nicer.

Deals/Coupons

This theme includes a custom plugin which will register a "deals" post-type to your site so you can easily add coupons/deals to your blog. See the image below for adding your deals.

Symple Shortcodes Usage

This theme of course comes with support and custom styling for the Symple Shortcodes plugin which we developed for free and share on our site.

Using the plugin is very simple. Once activated (should be auto activated with your theme) you'll see a new drop-down button in your post editor which you can use to insert shortcodes into your posts

Shortcode Tips


  • Using Columns & Pricing Tables: Use the "Clear Floats" shortcode after every set of columns you add to clear the floats and prevent issues.
  • Columns Overflowing: Don't forget to add position="last" to your last column when using column or pricing shortcodes
  • Need more space: Use the spacing shortcode to add margins/paddings between content
  • Shortcodes Are Messy: HTML mode is great for cleaning up shortcodes

Please remember you have purchased a really cheap Theme and not paid for a full-time web design agency. Occasionally we will help with small tweaks, but these tickes will be put on a lower priority due to their nature.

Support is also 100% optional and we provide it for your convience, so please be patient, polite and respectful.


Before seeking support, please...
  • Make sure your question is a valid Theme Issue and not a customization request
  • Make sure you have read through the documentation and the video guides before asking support on how to accomplish a task
  • Try disabling any active plugins to make sure there isn't a conflict with a plugin. And if there is this way you can let us know.
  • If you have customized your theme and now have an issue, back-track to make sure you didn't make any mistake. If you have made changes and can't find the issue, please provide us with your changelog.
  • Almost 80% of the time we find that the solution to people's issues can be solved with a simple "Google Search". You might want to try that before seeking support, you might be able to fix the issue yourself much quicker then we can respond to a ticket.
  • Make sure to state the name of the theme you are having issues with in the ticket
